Paulu Bruselas (b. Ridgewood, New Jersey) is a contemporary painter currently based in Manila. He studied Literature in Ateneo, Kalayaan College and UST and pursued graduate studies in Film at the University Of The Philippines.
His practice explores narrative, memory and mythologies of popular culture with an undercurrent of melancholy and sincere affection. Drawing from cinema, popular imagery, and everyday observation, his exhibitions adopt distinct visual and novelistic vocabularies to examine the emotional textures beneath performance and storytelling.
